So after catching up on last weeks exercise cos my home net conection's being a ***** (a shout out here to vodafone for that!!), it's time to move on to this weeks one....RSS feeds.
RSS feeds can be useful in a library in 2 ways.
Firstly for the staff, who would be suscribed to feeds relating to the 'behind-the-scene' business of the library. For instance they may be suscribed to publishers RSS feeds, where they'll find out what 'new' books are being relased and when, so they can factor new purchaces into the library's budget.
By having an RSS feed available to patrons, they can get info about up coming events within the libray sent to them instead of having to go searching for the 'whats on' info and finding it after the event has occured.
While yes, they can save time gathering news and information for you, they can aslo become annoying. If this happens, and you're like me, chances are you'll delete or ignore feeds and 'miss' out on all the happenings of whats going on around you
